We begin in the name of Allah, our Lord, the most Gracious, the most Merciful and the Master of all Land. We recognize the land that we are located on is a gift from our Lord, an Amanah - a trust we are responsible to uphold. And we recognize this responsibility, just as the peoples who have gathered before us on this land have recognized. We do not simply take from the land but rather it is a source of provision and barakah (divine blessing) for us. We follow the examples of our pious predecessors and the peoples and elders of the land in acting sustainably and ethically with regard to the land. We pray that we are people who uphold the Amanah, the rights of the land and rights of all people and beings who gather here.
